In recent years, Printegration has experienced a great deal of growth, but every change we have made, every step we have taken, has been guided by beliefs that have been firmly in place since our earliest days as Plummer Printing. We are reminded of the old adage, “To know where you’re going you have to know where you’ve been.”
R. H. Godsey, father of Printegration President, Rick Godsey, owned and operated Plummer Printing Co. where he held customer satisfaction as the highest priority. According to long-time friend, and current Printegration Vice President, Dennis Blick, Mr. Godsey always encouraged his employees to take pride in every piece that went through the presses at Plummer Printing.
These practices did not go unnoticed and eventually lead to Mr. Godsey’s induction in the Printing Industries of Virginia Hall of Fame. The example set by Mr. Godsey remains as the foundation upon which everything we have built stands today.
With Mr. Godsey’s successful practices firmly in place, Plummer Printing was ready to take a step forward. In 1999 Plummer Printing merged with Carriage House Press to become Imaging Solutions. With Rick Godsey and Steve Fitchett combining their expertise and leadership, it wasn’t long before the newly-formed Imaging Solutions was ready to do some growing of its own. With the 2000 acquisition of Richmond Engraving, Imaging Solutions enhanced its pre-press capabilities, further expanding its ability to holistically serve its customers’ printing needs.
When Imaging Solutions acquired Personal Letters and Optimus Print Marketing in 2002, we gained the ability to offer in-house mailing services and personalized digital printing. Now capable of providing our customers with a broad range of related services, Imaging Solutions changed its name to Printegration in 2004 to show its integrated approach to print and mail services.
In Spring 2007, Printegration purchased the XMPie software suite that enabled us to offer complex multi-channeled variable communications. We can now offer our clients highly personalized, data driven direct mail that is fully integrated with other applications such as personalized URL’s and websites, broadcast emails, multimedia applications (including streaming video and web hosting) and telephony services. Just like in the Plummer Printing days, at Printegration we are always looking for new and innovative ways to serve our clients.
Printegration will continue to grow and adapt as the needs of our clients change. However, no matter where these changes lead us, the principles of the late Richard H. Godsey will remain at the forefront of everything we do.
